Life On Mars/David Bowie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v--IqqusnNQ

Just watched Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou and rediscovered this '71 classic. One of my favourite choruses to sing along to. The piano is played by none other than Rick Wakeman of Yes fame.

This Love/Pantera

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fKlgxSKNdU

I've always loved the groove-metal styling of the rockers from Texas. This is from their seminal album, 1992's Vulgar Display Of Power.

Don't Dream It's Over/Crowded House

One of my all-time favourite songs. This live version is from their Farewell to the World concert performed next to the picturesque Sidney Opera House.

Great Albums (Dive/Tycho)

Year: 2011

I've been listening to this album regularly for the past few months. Unlike most offerings in the ambient music genre, Dive incorporates deep bass grooves, synthesized beats, and other elements that one usually associates with EDM. However, the music won't urge you to tear it up on the dance floor. Instead, you'll find yourself softly bobbing along to one of its tracks as you go about your work. Highly recommended for people who like to listen to music at work.

Personal Picks: "Daydream", "Coastal Brake", "Adrift", and "Epigram"

Don't Stop Believing/Journey

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k8craCGpgs

The guitar bit from 0:54 to 1:06 still gets to me after all these years. One of the greatest feelgood songs ever written.

Nagekidori (The Bird Of Wounds)/Paul Mauriat

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF5y7MLDRSw

Been listening to Mauriat's album by the same name since I was a kid. It still sounds fresh as ever. The man on the pan flute is none other than Gheorghe Zamfir.

Remember That/Sonic Future

Deep house. That's the name of the genre. I'm not sure what it connotes, but I really dig this tune.

That's The Way/Led Zeppelin

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TANKvE3sI3w

Sometimes it takes just one song to change how you listen to a band. I was introduced to this song quite recently. One of their more stripped down compositions, yet so powerful that it makes you realize how melodic their music truly is.
